Election Observers Deployed by House Republicans to Investigate Irregularities in Tight Races

Republicans in Congress, determined to use their oversight authority to keep tabs on midterms, have deployed dozens of trained observers to key races around the country.

The effort is being led Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Il), who is the top Republican on the House Administration Committee, and includes the training and deployment of House staff as observers under the authority of Congress and investigating how federal agencies are implementing Joe Biden’s executive order to expand voter registration.

Davis has so far written to at least one state election chief that the effort preserves the right for a candidate who feels his or her race was wrongly counted to contest it in Congress.

“As in past elections, the House will use this legal authority to credential and deploy trained congressional staffers to serve as official House election observers in close, or particularly cumbersome congressional elections, in the coming weeks,” the Illinois Republican wrote Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose on Oct. 20, laying out his plans. “This allows us to prepare for the possibility that a candidate could later contest the race in the House of Representatives.

“The Committee takes seriously its responsibility regarding federal elections, and we are committed to making sure all lawful ballots in congressional races are counted fairly, accurately, and according to law.”

Davis wrote that House staffers who will deployed have been “trained by experts in election observation and instructed that they play no formal or advocacy role in the administration of the election or the vote counting process; they are to function exclusively as observers.”

In addition to the observers, Davis and other ranking Republicans on committees have been peppering state, local and federal agencies with questions about tactics they are using and disputes that have already arisen early in the midterms.

For instance, Davis sent Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton a letter Wednesday demanding an investigation into voter registration mailers sent out by Planned Parenthood and Democrat candidate for governor Beto O’Rourke that he said might not have complied with state law.

“It is deeply troubling that Planned Parenthood and Mr. O’Rourke’s campaign sent voter registration forms that may not conform to state law to individuals who, in some cases, have been deceased for over a decade,” Davis wrote. “It goes without saying: Situations like this have a negative effect on voter confidence at a time we can least afford it. Texas voters must be assured not only that their vote will count, but that all — and only — legal votes will be counted.

“I understand you have launched your Election Integrity Division to investigate instances like this, and I encourage you to direct them to pursue this with all due haste.”

Likewise, earlier this month Davis sent a letter to Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold asking to be briefed on an investigation into how voter registration notices were sent out to 30,000 non-citizens who aren’t legally allowed to cast ballots.

“As you know, situations like this have a negative effect on voter confidence in elections at a time we can least afford it,” the Illinois lawmaker wrote. “Colorado must ensure that its voter registration lists are well-maintained and accurate and hold itself to the highest standards for all registration notices. The fact that roughly 30,000 names and addresses ‘accidentally’ slipped through the process is deeply concerning.”

The effort stretches all the way back to the spring, when House Administration Committee Republicans were flabbergasted by what they witnessed at Atlanta voting centers in Fulton County during the spring primaries. Davis said the problem observed, including polling locations that could not operate at full capacity, “do real damage to voter confidence in our election systems and outcomes at a time when we can least afford it.”

“I write today to express my concern about information my staff received during their trip regarding last minute security and other software updates that were made to the county’s electronic pollbooks (EPBs), which caused polling locations to open at less-than-full capacity, and request an explanation on how you will ensure that all of the county’s devices will be updated in time for the polls to open in November, specifically ensuring that minority and majority polling locations are not disproportionately affected,” Davis wrote the chairwoman of the Fulton County Elections Board on June 3.

Davis and other GOP colleagues in the House have also been investigating how federal agencies have been responding to Biden’s executive order to use tax dollars to expand voter registration across the country.

Rep. Glenn Thompson (Pa.), the top Republican on the House Agriculture Committee, was able to confirm that the U.S. Agriculture Department is helping collect voter registrations when poor Americans seek food stamps and other welfare benefits.

USDA believes the National Voter Registration Act 1993 requires it “to offer voter registration opportunities to any person who applies for or renews an application for public assistance, which includes the acceptance of the completed voter registration form and transmittal to State election officials,” the agency wrote recently.

Davis wrote several agencies this summer expressing concern that Biden’s order to agencies “goes beyond the power of the President and the statutory authority given to federal agencies” by Congress and digging into the tactics they are using to encourage voter registration.

Strangeness Abound in the Ongoing Saga of Paul Pelosi’s Attack: Evidence of an Information War?

Nancy Pelosi’s home in San Francisco was allegedly broken into early Friday morning, where her husband, Paul Pelosi, was violently assaulted. The attack is still under investigation, but the story has already been muddied by establishment figures rushing to shape the narrative.

Drew Hammill, a spokesperson for Nancy Pelosi, said in a press release:

“Early this morning, an assailant broke into the Pelosi residence in San Francisco and violently assaulted Mr. Pelosi. The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation. Mr. Pelosi was taken to the hospital, where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery. The Speaker was not in San Francisco at the time… The Speaker and her family are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved, and request privacy at this time.”

In the days following the attack, more harrowing information began to trickle out. 

The Western Journal added:

The motive behind the attack is “still being determined,” Scott said, adding that San Francisco police were leading the investigation in conjunction with the FBI, the U.S. attorney’s office, the U.S. Capitol Police and San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins, who was with him at the briefing.

The police chief said DePape would be booked on charges of attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, burglary “and several other additional felonies.”

 

The 911 Call

During the 911 call made by Paul Pelosi, he referred to his attacker as a “friend,” The Daily Mail reported.

As the story goes, Pelosi was supposedly talking in code to the 911 operator so as to not agitate his attacker, David DePape, but the operator knew something was amiss when Pelosi said to his attacker “What’s going on? Why are you here? What are you doing to me?”

The operator is then heard contacting the police and saying 

“’He states there is a male in the home and that he is going to wait for his wife. He stated that he doesn’t know who the male is but that his name is David and that he is a friend. He sounded somewhat confused.”

“It was thanks to Mr. Pelosi having the ability to make that call” and the “instincts of that dispatcher to realize something was wrong” that police were able to get to the scene quickly, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said to CNN. “They got there within two minutes to respond to this situation.”

The police didn’t share how David DePape entered the house in their first press conference.  They did mention that they charged him with burglary but that was it. In the second San Francisco Police Department press conference on the matter on Friday, the police provided more information.  The police shared:

“I can confirm that Mr. DePape forced entry into a rear door at the rear of the Pelosi home.”

But elements of the story do not add up.

As per the Gateway Pundit:

For one, if an individual broke into the home of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, there surely is a surveillance system that would tell the police and numerous entities that the house had been broken into.  There’s no doubt that the Pelosis’ home has a security system.  This system likely includes motion detectors as well.  Any movement near the house or broken glass would immediately be registered at the surveillance company.  They in turn would notify the police of the encounter.  Also, there are likely police cars circling the neighborhood where the Pelosis live.  But the police reported that Paul Pelosi made the call to the police.  Paul Pelosi never shared that the home was broken into.

There are also questions about this event being a burglary.  DePape reportedly forced entry into a rear door.  But a video from yesterday shows that there was glass on the outside of the home on the stairs behind the house.  If the window was broken from the outside, wouldn’t the glass be on the floor on the inside of the house?

Additionally, it’s been reported that DePape was in his underwear when the police arrived.  This means that he most probably took off his clothes inside the house.  This is because anyone walking around in that neighborhood in their underwear would immediately be arrested.  This is not something that someone could do in that neighborhood.  Also, why did Paul Pelosi refer to him as a friend on the phone?

Also, if it was a burglary, what did Depape steal?  Is there any evidence that he had things in his possession that he was stealing when the police arrived?  Not that we know of.  Was he hiding something in his underwear?

It also sounds like someone else let the police into the home.  Who was this?  Why did this person not call the police when the house was supposedly broken into?  Was there more than one other person in the home?

Finally, what injuries did DePape incur?  He too was sent to the hospital and in the first press release the police mentioned that they worked on his injuries before sending him to the hospital along with Paul Pelosi.

The one thing the police can do to clear this all up is release the police and surveillance camera videos.  This would likely answer most of these questions.

The Spin

Immediately, and predictably, the figureheads of the corrupt American political establishment set to doing what they do best, blaming MAGA republicans.

President Joe Biden on Friday appeared to insinuate without substantiation that DePape was motivated by the same anger that fueled the mob that flooded into the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

During the suspect’s intrusion into the Pelosi home, he is said to have yelled, “Where’s Nancy?” according to press accounts attributed to an unnamed law enforcement source. The scenario is eerily similar to AOC’s odd recount of Jan. 6th.

The suspect’s reported demand to know the House Speaker’s whereabouts prompted President Biden to float an unsubstantiated link between Friday’s home break-in/hammer assault to the unruly crowd breach of the Capitol almost two years ago to protest suspected electoral meddling.

“It’s reported that the same chant used by this guy they have in custody was used on January 6th in the attacks on the U.S. Capitol,” Biden said Friday at a Democratic fundraiser in Philadelphia, the Washington Times reported. “This is reported. I can’t guarantee it. We can tell you what’s being reported.”

Biden wasn’t the only one pushing the idea that the attacker was somehow connected to the right, Hillary Clinton also wasted no time pouncing on the unfortunate event.

Hillary shared an LA Times piece that aimed to paint Paul Pelosi’s “attacker” David DePape as a far-right conspiracy theorist.

Elon Musk weighed in, suggesting to Hillary Clinton that “There is a tiny possibility there might be more to this story than meets the eye.”

It’s been a rumor for years in SF that Paul Pelosi is gay. David Depape is said to be a Castro Nudist. “The lunatic who allegedly assaulted Paul Pelosi is a Berkeley resident and a ‘Former Castro Nudist Protester’.

It is uncertain if this article was taken down due to inaccuracy or pressure.

Additionally, the mainstream media attributed two websites to David DePape, trying to frame him as a conservative. Reports appear to be conflicting, stating that DePape was a “homeless and a drug addict” while also somehow managing two conservative websites. 

FOX News reported on the websites reportedly connected to DePape:

Facebook disabled DePape’s profile early Friday and declined to answer questions. At least two online blogs under DePape’s name are stocked with posts from the years of 2007 and 2022 speaking of “censorship,” “Big Brother,” and pedophiles. One contained calls for violence and antisemitic content. It was not immediately clear that he was responsible for the posts, and San Francisco police did not immediately respond to questions about DePape’s online presence.

The LA Times also reported as well on the websites.

In the months before police accused him of attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Friday morning, David DePape had been drifting further into the world of far-right conspiracies, antisemitism and hate, according to a Times review of his online accounts.

In a personal blog that DePape maintained, posts include such topics as “Manipulation of History,” “Holohoax” and “It’s OK to be white.” He mentioned 4chan, a favorite message board of the far right. He posted videos about conspiracies involving COVID-19 vaccines and the war in Ukraine being a ploy for Jewish people to buy land.

DePape’s screeds included posts about QAnon, an unfounded theory that former President Trump is at war with a cabal of Satan-worshipping elites who run a child sex ring and control the world. In an Aug. 23 entry titled “Q,” DePape wrote: “Either Q is Trump himself or Q is the deepstate moles within Trumps inner circle.”

The problem with this narrative is that the websites cited by the mainstream media that were supposedly aligned with DePape were created on Friday and they are no longer active today, Saturday.

The site Godisloving.wordpress.com was opened on Friday and shut down on Saturday.

If you try to link to it now, you will find it has been shut down.

The other site listed, www.frenlyfrens.com/blog is no longer active as well.  It too was created on Friday and shut down on Saturday.  The only activity on this site as well was in the last two days.

Despite the persistent insinuation that the attack is somehow directly linked to the widely contested 2020 election, former President Donald Trump shared his reaction to the assault in a new interview on Saturday.

Americano Media asked Trump if he thought the Pelosi attack was a reflection of rising criminal activity happening in the U.S.

Trump said in the interview:

“These people are crazy. They’re going to release stone cold killers out of the jails. Nobody knows why. I mean, they need room or something. Yeah, with Paul Pelosi, that’s a terrible thing; with all of them, it’s a terrible thing. Look at what’s happened to San Francisco, generally, look at what is happening in Chicago. It was far worse than Afghanistan,”.

 

The Culprit

The FBI has since widened the investigation into an attack. According to reports on Saturday, agents have visited a home that neighbors refer to as a “hippie collective” in Berkeley, Calif.

“FBI visits Berkeley home tied to Pelosi beating suspect,” NBC Bay Area investigative reporter Jaxon Van Derbeken noted on Twitter Friday in a post that included a photo of the home. “The Victorian is dubbed a ‘hippie collective’ by neighbors.”

A sign in one of the windows says, “Berkeley Stands United Against Hate,” while another looks to be a handwritten “Black Lives Matter” sign. Across from the home, there appears to be an LGBTQ banner adorned with marijuana leaves resembling an American flag.

As per Just the News:

“The composite portrait of DePape emerging from Bay Area accounts depicts a tortured soul — a hemp jewelry maker and hard drug user who lived for a time in a Berkeley storage unit, former member of the Green Party, and best man at the wedding of San Francisco public nudity activist Gypsy Traub. In posts on a since-removed Facebook account and personal blog, DePape railed disjointedly against election fraud, COVID tyranny and globalist subversion, according to press accounts.”

Gypsy Taub, the former partner of David DePape, claims DePape is “mentally ill” and once came home after an extended disappearance thinking he was Jesus. Taub called local outlet ABC7 from the California Institution For Women in Corona, and said she was “the ex-life partner of David DePape and the mother of his children.” 

Taub, who was found guilty last year on 20 counts including a kidnapping attempt, has apologized to the Pelosis, saying that she is “super progressive” and that she “admires” Nancy Pelosi.

Paul Pelosi Assaulted in His Home Friday Morning

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Husband Paul Pelosi was “violently assaulted” at their residence in San Francisco early Friday morning after an assailant broke in, according to a statement from the Speaker’s office.

According to her spokesman Drew Hammill, Nancy Pelosi was away from San Francisco at the time of the attack. U.S. Capitol Police said she was in Washington, D.C. with her protective detail.

Paul Pelosi, 82, was taken to a hospital and is expected to make a “full recovery,” according to Hammill.

Capitol Police said the San Francisco Police Department took the suspect into custody.

“Early this morning, an assailant broke into the Pelosi residence in San Francisco and violently assaulted Mr. Pelosi. The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation,” Hammill said.

Special Agents from Capitol Police’s California Field Office were sent to the scene, and a team of investigators from the department’s Threat Assessment Section was dispatched to help authorities.

While much is unknown about the attack, it is certain to raise new worries about violence targeting political figures and their families.

Over the summer a man armed with a pistol was arrested near Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s (D-Wash.) Seattle home after yelling threats at the congresswoman, who was home with her husband at the time.

Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) was separately attacked by a man at a campaign event in New York in June during his gubernatorial race. And earlier this month, the congressman said two people were shot outside his Long Island home. He and his family, however, remained unharmed.

Additionally, in 2021 Capitol Police opened 9,625 cases involving direct threats and concerning statements or actions, and the year before that, 8,613.

Breaking update: Sources are telling many reporters that the attacker allegedly was screaming “Where is Nancy!” when Paul Pelosi was confronted and attacked in the couple’s San Francisco home). Nancy Pelosi was in DC according to her office. The assailant reportedly was trying to tie up Paul Pelosi “until Nancy got home.”

Desantis and Trump Have a Very Public Disagreement Over Colorado Senate Candidate

This isn’t the first public display of a major rift forming between the two top contenders for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, but it might be the most severe disagreement to date.

On Sunday, Ron DeSantis endorsed Joe O’Dea, an openly anti-Trump Republican Senate candidate who has managed to close the gap in a historically blue state.

It wasn’t long before Donald Trump expressed his opinion on Truth Social, calling the move a “BIG MISTAKE!”

The Washington Examiner recently reported that DeSantis would be recording a robocall for O’Dea, who’s trailing Democrat incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet by 7.5 percent in the RealClearPolitics polling average, although the gap has been narrowing in what was expected to be an easy Democratic win.

Desantis in the robocall said:

“Hello this is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. America needs strong leadership desperately. That’s why I’m endorsing Joe O’Dea for U.S. Senate. Colorado, please vote for Joe O’Dea,”

“I’ve watched Joe from a distance. And I’m impressed.”

The Flordia Governor goes on to say that O’Dea, a 60-year-old businessman, “isn’t a career politician. He’s a contractor. He’s built a company from nothing. He’s a leader who knows how to fight and get results. Michael Bennet votes with Joe Biden 98 percent of the time. The results have been a disaster for the American people,”

“Colorado needs new leadership.”

“Joe’s focused on building the wall and cracking down on crime,” DeSantis noted. “He’ll stand up to the big spending politicians in both parties and cut red tape. Vote Joe O’Dea and let’s turn Colorado red!”

Some see this robocall as a “pointed rejection” of Donald Trump, as O’Dea has been vocal on CNN about his intention to distance himself and his campaign from the former president.

O’Dea recently appeared on CNN, where he promised to work against any attempt by Trump to secure the Republican nomination for the third time.

“I don’t think Donald Trump should run again,” O’Dea said. “I’m going to actively campaign against Donald Trump and make sure that we have got four or five really great Republicans right now.

“Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, they could run and serve for eight years,” he added. “I’m going to do my job as a U.S. senator to make sure that they have good campaigns in the primary here, so we have a good selection of candidates for 2024.”

Trump took to Truth Social the following day to denounce O’Dea.

“There’s this RINO character in the Great State of Colorado, Joe O’Dea, that is running against the incumbent Democrat for the United States Senate, who is having a good old time saying that he wants to ‘distance’ himself from President Trump, and other slightly nasty things,” Trump wrote.

“He should look at the Economy, Inflation, Energy Independence, defeating ISIS, the Strongest EVER Border, Great Trade Deals, & much more, before he speaks. MAGA doesn’t Vote for stupid people with big mouths. Good luck Joe!”

Given that, DeSantis‘ “BIG MISTAKE” endorsement represents the most public break between the two biggest names competing for the 2024 GOP nod.

There have been more private signs of a break, with Trump (now a Florida resident) not endorsing DeSantis in his 2022 re-election bid and DeSantis not particularly eager for the former president’s help on the campaign trail.

Biden Could Kill Musk’s Twitter Bid, Threatens to Investigate Acquisition as National Security Threat

The Biden DOJ may be set to investigate Elon Musk’s Twitter bid under the pretense that the takeover of the social media giant could threaten national security.

What is being colloquially referred to as the “Biden crime family” has now been flagged over 150 times for illicit banking transactions with foreign players, most notably in China and Ukraine.

The DOJ has so far ignored the potential criminal business dealings of Joe, Hunter, and James Biden, dealings that could essentially boil down to foreign bad actors having leverage over a sitting president of the United States. Instead, It appears that the DOJ sees Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter as the real threat to national security. The top social media platforms have been covering for the Biden regime since Biden announced his presidential bid, so it is little wonder why Biden’s DOJ sees the Musk takeover of Twitter as a threat as he has promised that free speech on the platform will be a primary focus.

The US government is weighing national security reviews for some of Elon Musk’s ventures, including his Twitter takeover deal, Bloomberg reported on Thursday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

Musk’s plans to purchase Twitter for $44 billion with the help of foreign investors, including Saudi Arabia’s Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund, and Binance Holdings which was founded by a Chinese businessman, have concerned Biden administration officials, the people told Bloomberg.

The government was considering which tools they could use to review Musk’s deals, the people added. The Committee on Foreign Investment in the US (CFIUS), which is run by the US Treasury Department and reviews foreign buyers’ acquisitions of American businesses, could be an option, per Bloomberg.

The CFIUS carries out security reviews if a “transaction threatens to impair the national security of the United States,” according to federal regulations. When reviewing a transaction, the CFIUS can recommend to President Joe Biden that the deal be suspended or prohibited, per the regulations.

If the Twitter deal is reviewed by CFIUS for national security reasons, as reported by Bloomberg, Biden has the ability to stop the acquisition from going ahead. In recent months, Musk had requested the deal be called off.

With what is looking to be a “red wave” heading into midterms, it is very likely that a Republican-dominated House and Senate, as Newt Gingrich has predicted, could move forward with investigations into Anthony Fauci and the origin of COVID-19, as Ron Paul (R-KY) has promised, as well as investigations into the Biden Administration itself as promised by Jim Jordan (R-OH).

In short, free speech means the tech overlords won’t be able to hold back the veritable flood of information that could be blasted on the platform if and when these promised investigations start to yield fruit.

In addition, it seems as though Twitter will receive a thorough gutting of employees should Musk be successful in his bid. According to WaPo, Elon Musk has told potential investors in his bid to buy Twitter that he plans to cut the workforce by nearly 75 percent. But even if Musk does not take over the company, Twitter plans to slash nearly a quarter of employees due to a massive payroll cut.

The Post makes clear the corporate media’s chief concern about such cuts: that they would potentially “[cripple] the service’s ability to combat misinformation, hate speech, and spam.” 

Of course, as the last six years have shown us, not everyone seems to be in agreement with what is misinformation as well as what does and doesn’t qualify as “hate speech”. 

As it stands, a successful purchase of Twitter by Musk would likely be a powerful boon to the America First movement. If the Biden regime successfully squashes the acquisition it won’t be the end of the world as Twitter, though far from perfect, has already eased up considerably on censorship in the lead-up to this buyout, and there is no shortage of alternative platforms.
