WHO is Set to Decide Whether Monkeypox Should be Elevated to ‘Public Health Emergency’ Status

The World Health Organization is set to decide this Thursday whether it will declare Monkeypox a global health emergency.

The WHO, a United Nations agency, declared back in January that the virus was an emergency, the upcoming decision will potentially see the threat level rise to “public health emergency of international concern”, which, according to Reuters, is the WHO’s highest level of alert.

Monkeypox does not appear to spread nearly as easily as COVID but it has still raised alarm.

The case count from the current outbreak outside of Africa has topped 3,000 in more than 40 countries, according to a Reuters tally – largely among men who have sex with men – since it was first reported in May. As of yet, there have been no reports of deaths.

The WHO will convene a closed meeting of experts at 12 p.m. (1000 GMT) in Geneva. It remains unclear when the decision will be announced.

Author’s Opinion:  It is uncertain what steps if any will be taken, but if the COVID debacle of 2020 is any indication, if there is wealth to be made, then it’s a sure bet those who are in the know have already positioned themselves to do so, that is including those who have the power to hype up an otherwise non-threat.

Ghislaine Maxwell Flexes Her Clout to Solicit Lesser Sentence

Disgraced British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell is now invoking her political connections in a bid to receive a lower sentence for the crime of trafficking underage girls.

Though Ghislaine Maxwell may be among the most reviled members of high society, you have to hand it to her, she’s done great things. After all, she’s tied to such prestigious organizations as the Clinton Foundation and even helped to launch the unquestionably benevolent Clinton Global Initiative.

The Daily Mail reports:

Ghislaine Maxwell used her connections to Bill Clinton in an effort to get herself a lower sentence for trafficking underage girls for Jeffrey Epstein.

The disgraced socialite pointed to her work for the former President’s philanthropic endeavors three times as she argued she should serve just four years in jail at her sentencing on June 28th.

Maxwell claimed that helping launch the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) demonstrated she has a ‘desire to do good in the world’.

Maxwell, 60, will be sentenced next Monday after she was found guilty of trafficking and sexually abusing underage girls last December.

It’s no secret that Jeffery Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell have intimate ties with the Clintons, particularly Bill Clinton. We know that the former president met with Epstein at least 17 times in the Whitehouse alone, not to mention 26 flights on the lolita express.

Is the Pope’s Resignation Impending? Catholics Speculate Amid Rumors

Rumors began to circulate on Monday that Pope Francis’s resignation may be swiftly approaching.

Megyn Kelly shared a video to Twitter early Monday morning regarding the recent speculation. In the video, she sights multiple unusual occurrences at the Vatican while she and her family were there, in particular the presence of many Cardinals.

Speculation has been growing for months in wake of comments made by Pope Francis himself.

“When you are old,” the Pope said, “you are no longer in control of your body. One has to learn to choose what to do and what not to do.”

The Pope recently postponed an apostolic visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo and south Sudan, citing advice from his doctor. On Monday, the Vatican announced that Francis would not participate in the Corpus Christi mass due to health concerns.

Further speculation has stoked the idea that Francis is on his way out.

The Pope announced an August gathering of all the world’s cardinals, which ordinarily occurs when it’s time to elect a new pontiff. The Vatican has also announced a papal trip to the central Italian city of L’Aquila for a feast first held by Pope Celestine V more than 700 years ago. 

The Visit to Celestine’s Tomb sets off alarm bells for many Vatican aficionados as it seems to follow a trend. Pope Benedict XVI visited Celestine’s tomb in 2009; he later became the first pope in nearly six centuries to step down. Before Pope Benedict VXI, the only other Pope to abdicate the position was Celestine, which occurred six centuries before. 

The strange activity at the Vatican coupled with the apparent poor health of the Pontiff is sufficient enough for onlookers to believe that the Pope is ready to abdicate and call on the Cardinals to appoint a new leader for the Catholic church.

GOP in Texas Add Referendum to Secede from US in 2023

The Texas GOP agreed on Saturday to hold a referendum in 2023 on the matter of secession from the United States. Texas Republicans brought up the issue of secession and declared Joe Biden’s presidential win “illegitimate” during the final day of their State Party Convention at the George R Brown Convention Center in Houston. 

According to The Daily Mail, the platform has a section titled “State Sovereignty” that reads “Pursuant to Article 1, Section 1, of the Texas Constitution, the federal government has impaired our right of local self-government. Therefore, federally mandated legislation that infringes upon the 10th Amendment rights of Texas should be ignored, opposed, refused, and nullified.”

The Texas GOP has drawn from the state’s eventful history and constitution when they wrote into their platform that, “Texas retains the right to secede from the United States, and the Texas Legislature should be called upon to pass a referendum consistent thereto.”

Some may recall that Texas was once it’s own country after breaking from Mexico and becoming the Republic of Texas in 1836. In 1845 Texas became part of the United States and drafted a constitution decades later that reiterated its freedom and sovereignty.

The state has actually had several movements for secession over the years, most recently being “Texit”, which was aptly named after Britain’s successful breaking from the European Union. 

However, the Texas Tribune points out that the Lone Star State, like all states, cannot simply secede from the union, but the situation, at the very least, highlights a growing cultural bifurcation in America that doesn’t seem to have any solid solution.

In addition to the threat of secession, the party’s platform also declared Biden an illegitimate president by saying, 

“We believe that the 2020 election violated Article 1 and 2 of the US Constitution, that various secretaries of state illegally circumvented their state legislatures in conducting their elections in multiple ways, including by allowing ballots to be received after November 3rd 2020.”

Despite Democratic hopes of a purple Texas, the state has become increasingly Republican, many central American immigrants voting red has led to the historic win by Republican Mayra Flores who flipped a 150-year-old blue district red.

Electric Car Investors/Insiders are Leading Biden Electric Vehicle Agenda

President Biden’s Secretary of Energy and former Governor of Michigan, Jennifer Granholm, is the latest Democrat to suggest the solution to high gas prices is to buy a $60,000 electric vehicle.

A tweet from the RNC on Tuesday shows Granholm making a case for “going electric” as a way to avoid skyrocketing gas prices.

“If you filled up your EV [electric vehicle] and you filled up your gas tank with gasoline, you would save $60 per fill-up by going electric rather than using gasoline… it’s a very compelling case, but again, we want to bring down the price at the point of purchase,” Granholm said.

Of course, Granholm neglects to mention the glaring hypocrisy and environmental drawbacks associated with Lithium-Ion batteries or where the energy to power said batteries really comes from.

The comments by Granholm follow the record-setting surge in gas prices, which have now pushed over $5 per gallon. 

According to Fox News, Granholm made similar points in a White House press briefing in May 2021.

“If you drive an electric car, this would not be affecting you,” she said during the briefing. 

According to Forbes, Granholm is worth roughly $8 million, but here’s where it gets interesting.

Granholm recently served as the director of an electric car company called Proterra. In May, she exercised stock options in the company, pocketing about $1.6 million from the transaction, according to an energy department spokesperson.

Environmentalism is an admiral cause, but as with most things, discernment is required to ensure you are actually contributing to a cleaner world and not just lining somebody’s pocket.
